Ruth Sellar

Welcome

Ruth loves sharing her passion for music with people of all ages and abilities through composition.

She has written many books of imaginative and colourful piano pieces at intermediate and upper intermediate level, and also violin pieces at Grade 1 to intermediate level; these are all published by Goodmusic Publishing.

Ruth enjoys composing choral works and was both a winner of the Classic FM ‘A Carol for Christmas’ competition 2012 and the Sir David Willcocks Carol Competition 2018. She has written many choral pieces, especially carols, and also loves composing children’s/all-age songs for use in churches and schools.

Ruth read Music at King’s College London, graduating with a First Class Honours degree in 2010. As well as composition, she teaches piano and violin, and has taught in a number of independent schools and also privately in Oxfordshire.
